Not the cover. Not the manuscript. Not the pre-publication hoopla. None of it is done. But I'm working on it.
The plot premise: Tonnie Berndt wakes to find that she's been "missing" from the world for some time. Dealing with one surprise after another, some good, some tragic, she becomes involved in a cold case murder that happened while she was comatose. It soon becomes clear that someone wants her to go missing again; this time for good.
The progress: The story's been edited for content, which resulted in some pretty heavy rewriting. That's done today, so it will go to a beta reader, back to me for more fixes, and then to the copy editor--and back to me again. If all that goes well, I'm shooting for a mid-summer release.
The publicity: I'm really bad at this, but I should start hyping the book soon on social media. It will be available for pre-order everywhere, hopefully by next week, and that's where readers can help a lot. Pre-orders move a book up in the algorithms, so more people see it. When more see it, more pre-order it, and VOILA! I have a marketing campaign.
As always, I'm grateful to readers who help with spreading the word. There are a LOT of books out there, and it's hard to get attention without help.
