I have a new book coming out on April 18th. I'm not a great promoter. I've done author interviews, ads on Facebook, and ads on book-selling sites, but I've never seen any increase in sales from those things. So I've challenged myself to an 18-Day Blast on this blog, which I intend to make fun and interesting as well as sales-oriented.
First the book. It's called Leaving the Tribe, and it's speculative women's fiction. (All that means is that it's about a possible future and focuses mainly on female characters.) The book follows the adventures of three women about twenty years in the future. They have lots of adventures and see interesting sights that will tickle your memory. While the story is entertaining, it was inspired by my fear that certain forces in this country would like to see women back to the "barefoot and pregnant" state we left not all that long ago. I called on my own background, recalling the days when women had to have their husband's permission to do many things. As girls we were told by teachers, parents, ministers, and the media that we needed to guard against men, because their nature, which was more bestial that a woman's, made them likely to take advantage of us if we weren't careful to look, act, and remain pure.
You can get the e-book by pre-order at Amazon for $2.99 from now until the 18th, when it will go to my regular e-book price, $4.99. Click if you want to do that now.
